- INSTANT: Freestanding mesh tent for one person that pops open into shape automatically - simply slide off the elastic strap and toss up. No effort required! Can be used indoors or outdoors, on a bed, camping cot or on the ground. If using outdoors, place a groundsheet under it. - TOTALLY ENCLOSED: Strong noseeum mesh with attached floor provides superior protection and an impenetrable barrier to keep ALL insects, bugs, spiders, scorpions and snakes out (no-see-um netting has much smaller holes than a mosquito net so nothing can get in). Black net gives a better view of the outside than white or colored net. Full mesh allows stargazing and breeze from a ceiling fan. Noiseless poly floor. Sunbathing is safer than a tanning booth. - LIGHTWEIGHT and SPACIOUS: Only 2.2 lbs! Taller than other nets so you can sit up in it. Also wider so you're not stuck in one position. Inside length: 86 inches (usable length: 6 feet), inside width: 39 inches, Height: 35 inches. Even though it is longer and wider than a cot, it can still lay on it. The overhang on a cot allows sound sleep without fear of touching the sides and being bit through the mesh. - CONVENIENT DESIGN: The net is only folded three times so there is less stress on the poles, thus less chance of breaking. The 3-folded circle is 26 inches (more than two feet) wide and will NOT fit even in a large suitcase. If flying, you will need to check it in separately or fold it smaller. The slim flat disc is easy to store in your RV or car. - EASY TO FOLD: Folding only takes seconds once you know how. But first you need to CAREFULLY watch the videos MULTIPLE times to understand the steps. Don't give up. You can do it! Fiberglass poles are strong but they will splinter if incorrectly folded!

Product description

What makes the SansBug Different?

The SansBug has been around since 2009

Ummm... it looks kinda big. Are you sure it can fit on top of a cot?

Will the 1-person mosquito net fit in the platform tents at summer camp?

So... what's the deal with folding this contraption???

No-see-um netting has much smaller holes than a mosquito net. The tight weave screens out the tiniest bugs and insects. Sleep soundly with the confidence that no bugs, insects, spiders, scorpions or snakes can get in.

The two-way zipper makes it possible to open or close the tent from either inside or outside. The two sliders allow you to open the door from a convenient position.

The SansBug is taller than similar nets so you can sit up in it. It's also much wider so you're not cramped in one position and can sleep comfortably. A sleeping adult changes position every 20 minutes so you're bound to touch the netting in the narrower tents and end up with multiple bites.

Most casual campers drive to the campsite so folding into 3 circles is sufficient, easier and safer. When folded into the more-compact 4 circles, the fiberglass poles are under a lot of stress. Lots of 10-year-olds at summer camp are pros at folding the SansBug into the 3 circles so it's not difficult. But first be sure to carefully watch the video multiple times to "get it."

The SansBug has been used by the US and Canadian military, disaster relief responders, researchers and doctors in remote regions. It is the gold standard summer camp gear for Scouts to use on cots in canvas tents or Adirondack cabins.

It can also be used to meditate in nature, read and tan in the backyard and let cats and small pets enjoy the outdoors! Roomy, lightweight, portable and durable, the SansBug pops open in ONE second and folds down in less than 10 seconds!

Don't just consider the price of the cheaper brands - they will turn out to be more costly since you will have to replace your tent. Choose the original mosquito net tent which will last years.

For the past 16 years, tens of thousands of campers have used the 1-person tent on a camping cot. The SansBug is longer and wider than a cot so that you can comfortably sleep without touching the netting. If it was the same size, you would touch the netting and be bit. Furthermore, the overhang allows you to store a change of clothes and gear without rolling over them. The narrower shelters force you to sleep in one position and can feel claustrophobic.

Moreover, there is no need to secure the tent to the cot; the weight of your sleeping bag will make it stay put. This simple, elegant design keeps the cost down and makes the SansBug easy to use.

For narrow platform tents, read the tip below.

Lots of summer camps like Rodney Scout Reservation and Camp Read have platform tents that are wide enough to fit two 1-person SansBugs with sufficient space between them.

For tents that are narrow, we suggest positioning the cots sideways (rotate 90°) so the slope of the SansBug aligns with the slope of the canvas wall tent as shown in the picture.

Folding the SansBug is not intuitive. Even if you are a rocket scientist, you still need to watch the demo videos multiple times. The paper manual is only supplementary and the videos are crucial. Once you understand the steps, folding will only take seconds. The ease of setup and takedown will save you an hour a day.

You can get the hang of it for one summer and you’ll think you got it down but you DO need to watch the video AGAIN the following year BEFORE going to camp (there might not be WiFi).
