Product description
Our CNC machine Tensegrity table is supplied as a kit.
Tensegrity tables are visually and mechanically quite different. The table top almost appears to float in mid air, with almost incomprehensibly thin dangling wires to the ground. At first glance it appears almost impossible. It's only in under inspection do you realise the physics involved...even then some people don't find how it works intuitive.
All our tensegrity tables now have 9kg (max) breaking strength centre cable. All centre cables are quality tested on custom build pneumatic jig to ensure they are up to the highest standard.
Note: don't put this amount of weight on the table. Cables are under tension before any weight is place on the table.
This tensegrity is properly engineered. What do we mean by that? There's no glue. No cheap nasty components. Everything has been designed and prototyped by us, for production in our factory in Maidenhead, England. We take take pride in what we do. We control the quality and we make things to last.
Hidden underneath the base of the table it's a fully adjustable mechanism to allow each of the outer cables length and tension to be adjusted. This ensures the table is perfectly level and also allows increase the tension to the table is rigid.
Each cable is rated to 15lb+ so it is unlikely you will break them. We test each cable in a custom jig before packing in the box. Note: centre cable will always fail before 15lb weight is applied due to having a preload tension. We recommend limiting to 0.5lb weight on the table to give a good safety margin.
Our kits are supplied in a custom foam insert which we have designed and made ourselves. This ensures that all the parts are safe and secure while in transit. It also doubles as an assembly aid, holding the engine still during assembly.
