ABOUT US
WHY WOOL?
White Mountain Woolen Camp Blanket
Available in Four Classic Colors
In 2002, Minus33 was created by textile engineers from L. W. Packard & Co. Inc. L. W. Packard has been involved in just about every aspect of the wool industry, and a proud family-owned business since 1916. In 1995, L.W. Packard was selected by Textile World magazine as one of the top ten textile plants in the world.
With so much of our family history rooted in the wool industry, combined with our genuine passion for the outdoors, it only made sense for Minus33 to emerge as a wool clothing brand. Minus33 began as a snowmobile brand, and quickly expanded to other outdoor markets, such as hiking, skiing, and hunting due the versatility of our product offering.
Minus33 Wool regulates the amount of moisture on your skin by absorbing any moisture or sweat on your body. Then, the absorbed moisture evaporates out of the fabric into the atmosphere.
Wool will absorb up to 30% of its weight in moisture without feeling wet or clammy. If you do get wet, wool will insulate you better than cotton or polyester materials.
Don’t worry about sunburn on a sunny day summiting a peak. Lightweight layers have a UPF rating of 25. Midweight and Expedition have a UPF rating of 50+.
Wool has a low environmental footprint and naturally returns to the elements. Shear a sheep in the morning, and in the afternoon they’re happily nibbling their way towards renewing next season’s clip.
Based on Heritage: The White Mountain Woolen collection honors our roots dating back to 1916 as a textile mill specializing in heavily felted wool fabrics and blankets. With 100+ years of experience in manufacturing, we are pleased to deliver high quality, easy care woolens.
Inspired by Nostalgia: The White Mountain Woolen collection will bring you back to those timeless memories. Summers at your grandparents' lake cabin, crisp fall mornings learning to hunt with your Uncle John, or the annual family camping trip up north. Whatever it is for you, WMW products will symbolize those classic experiences.
